The ones that you usually feel and instant connection with you will find most of the time is the exact opposite of who you are. We connect to people that we are little or nothing alike. My best friend and my husband like a lot of the same things, but they are not exactly crazy about each other. Usually you will not connect very well with the ones who are a lot like you, and so that is why you will find that some people you connect better with. I am unsure why we tend to like our opposites though, I am still trying to figure that one out.
There are lots of studies done on relationships that you can find all over the net and they are interesting to read.

That's a good thing I think, one can only have so many profound friends. Those that do not connect were probably not meant to be.
