Yes and No. Today sex is all over the place but it is considered dirty and nasty thanks to the Regan administration of the 80s. The 80s were becoming more conservative while the 60s and 70s were all about free love and getting it on with whoever you want. America has no idea how it should feel about sex, especially today. On one hand we think it is dirty and should censor it and on the other hand we have celebrities making sex tapes. These days especially with the Bush administration we are very conservative with our views on sex. I am not saying we should go back to the free love era and we shouldn't with all of the STDs floating around, but this sex only in marriage and only for reproduction ideal is a little to conservative for me. It is just funny to think that some the sexually liberated people from the 60s and 70s and even 80s have become the very conservative parents and leaders of today.

That depends, free love was an expression. now it is free love with STD's Because sex is no longer a hush-hush subject, students are being educated about the possible good/bad outcomes of their actions. Also, because society is more open about sex, it is no longer scandalous therefore, while everyone is having it is not being gossiped about as it would have back in the 70's. So it is not a taboo or shocking.
I would think that the frequency of sex is the same because society no longer considers it a hot topic.

It's even more liberal today than back in the 70's, I remember there were almost no pregnant teens in school,I can only think of two in my school of 1000 students, not that people weren't doing it, just it wasn't as common as today.Everything seems to be more on your face now,I think it is because back then there were more old fashioned people around, now the children and grandchildren of the hippies are the ones in charge.

Worse, pretty much few taboos left, some teachers are having a field day with students and judges don't do much about it, and forces lurking inside the left wing of the democrat party (NAMBLA) want to remove or at least lower the consulting age. Some states are just discovering they need to ban "sex farms" to stop the operation of bestiality animal shelters. Really isn't much left to "liberate", except maybe cross species marriage.

I think it's more liberal. I think this is the reason why we have a lot of unwanted pregnancies, and well, STIs on the rise.
