You have spyware, adware, or a virus that pop up blockers can not stop.
1st, don't waste your time with AVG, spybot, ad aware, or anything of the sort. Stay away from anything that is free. There is a reason why they free. They are not good.
2nd, You need some of the best software out there. Norton Systemworks is very good. That's the only good software from Norton. Don't get Internet security, its not that great. Now the best software you should get is Spysweeper with Anti-virus, this software is too good and gets better everyday. It blocks over 170,000 threats. No other software can compete with that or come close for that matter. I've used them all and it is 2nd to none.
3rd, after you install and update the software, since its in your system you will have to turn off system restore and then go into safe mode and run the scan and eliminate the virus. then after removal, reboot and turn system restore back on.
4th, any probs after you do all this, send me an e-mail

Try downloading a different popup blocker. I find the google toolbar works fine for me. There should also be somthing in youre security settings. You might have a conflict between the built in settings on your computer and the popup blocker you downloaded.

I hardly get any popups. First make sure that your XP popup blocker is on.... then I have the Yahoo popup blocker going also - run spyware every so often and you should be all set. Of course, if you go to porn or gambling sites - you'll have to be more diligent.

There are two spyware products that are free. You need to use both to get good coverage.

Further you should use a safe web browser that blocks pop-up blocker, try firefox, that is what I use.

you have spyware/scumware on your computer. go to www.tomcoyote.org and post a description (more detailed that here .. what type of popups, when, how often, etc) on their forums. they will walk you through posting a logfile of your computer's running processes using an inhouse tool (hijackthis) and assist in cleaning your computer of all the crap that is causing this. this is the entire function of that website: helping folks clean invasive spyware/virii/trojans/etc off of their machines.
