Why would someone live in new york or boston when they can live in California or somewhere with nice weather. It is useless suffering.

I hear you. Chicago weather sucks 8 months out of the year. It's because you grow up in a social network (your parents, friends, relatives, etc) and you get a job and then you live there. Or when most people pick colleges, they choose based on the school's academics and such without realizing that they're likely to stay there for the rest of their life.

Me, I'm going to get out of this horrible climate and move south.

I was born in Ohio & love it . The differant seasons are so pretty .I'm done with winter for now but look forward to it every year . Love looking at the snow , the spring flowers , sommer activitys & fall colors on the trees .
It would be boring if it was the same all year long & I really don't like extream heat, the storms , the humity of Florida & earthquakes , the Fire's & mud slides in California .
No Thanks , I'll stay in Ohio

A Happy Jelly City Ohioion :-)

Because we like variety in our lives!!! Swimming in the summer, Skiing and snowmobiling in the winter, gathering leaves in the fall and watching the world come alive in the spring!!! Camping year round. Wouldn't want to live in a place where the weather was the same all the time, that sounds pretty boring to me!!! But to each their own

Good question. Who knows? Maybe people who are really hairy live in the cold weather because if they lived someplace hot they would be miserable. My boyfriend is a pretty hairy guy and he is hot a lot. So, colder places feel JUUUUSSSSSSSSSSTTTTTT right (said like Goldilocks and the 3 bears).

confident, I actually love the chilly climate. i'm in long island and this is been very chilly. quite as quickly as I went to circumstances sq. to verify the ball drop on New year's, it replaced into previous freezing. My arms have been frozen as nicely as my feet, yet I had a sturdy time. My famous seasons are fall and wintry climate..each and every little thing will become nonetheless and extra alert. quite whilst the leaves fall or the snow hits the floor...you are able to hear each and every little thing, different than for the snow falling on the floor because of fact it somewhat is silent..or extra like we gained't hear it fall on the floor. the only element i do unlike is whilst the chilly air hits my face....i can't cover MY FACE ALL DAY!!! lol

I live in NY, near Buffalo and it can get quite cold here during January and February. But, I would rather live up here in the north rather than the south.
My personal reasons behind it are 1) there aren't as many big bugs up here, 2) we don't deal with hurricanes, 3) we don't deal with earthquakes, 4) I like the snow (especially lake effect), 5) we barely ever get tornadoes, and 6) it doesn't get too hot in the summer.

Lots of variety in the weather. You learn to enjoy the winter activities, such as skiing, skating and toboganning. Building a snowman or having a snowball fight is not suffering.

California has earthquakes. Middle South has tornadoes. Northeast has blizzards. But Northeast also has four seasons, higher pay scales, more beautiful women, and a lot more interesting things to do.

Some people enjoy the cold and others put up with it because the city has other things to offer which outweigh the cold.
