Your baby's heartbeat should always be somewhere between 120 and 160, so yes, he/she is normal.

Our baby's heartbeat was always somewhere between 140 and 150 and HE is due any day. Going by heartbeat is just an old wives' tale, but take our experience for what you will.

And some good advice? Get all of the blankets, things for the nursery, and the initial newborn clothes in things that are gender neutral even if you do end up having an ultrasound (usually around 20-22 weeks) to find out what you're having. This way, you can use whatever you've bought again for the next baby. It will save you some time (which you won't have once you have one child) and some money (again, pretty much absent after the first child).

Good luck!

This is entirely normal. A babys heart beat will typically be between 120 and 180 with considerable variation from everything to the baby's movement to what you eat to when the baby sleeps and "plays" so dont worry and enjoy it.

My baby's heart rate is on the 150's too, they say the heart rate has nothing to do with the sex of the child. They told me I was having a girl and that it was 75% probablity from the ultrasound.

A variation of two means nothing. The average heart beat is 144 for a fetus—again by itself that means nothing because it is an average. Ask these questions of your physician who knows your total situation. Have a happy baby..

thats a normal heartrate and going by what people say it would be a girl. i thot that i believed if the heartrate was bout 140 or below it was a boy and if it was higher it was a girl but im not so sure now! i have five boys and all them where 140's and with this pregnancy the heartrate was in its 140's but they said its a girl, so im not sooo sure thats true! altho the last dr visit i had the heartrate was in its 150's! good luck!

It is totally normal. A baby's heart rate is always that high. Don't be alarmed. Sounds like your baby is healthy!! Congrats. I think it is a girl.

That's a good, strong heartbeat! :)
I do not think the heartbeat has anything to do with the sex...
Good Luck! Congrats!!

As long as it does not go under 120, then everything is fine.
