I got a used laptop from a friend and he lost the password.whats that one word we have to use to reset it?

Ive done this before and i was told a word that gets u in
but i forgot what it is and i cant get in without it,
or if u know a easier way please help

Take the battery out of the computer to reset the password. The password in the operating system is a different issue.
