my license is broken right down the middle from not putting it in a wallet and just having it in my pocket.. does that mean if i get pulled over its invalid?

If you have both parts and they fit together it may be o.k. Go to your license office to get them replaced though. I could not buy Advil cold and sinus from the pharmacy because mine were cracked .

technically its invalid but just scotch tape it and unless the cops having a bad day they wont say anything. ive been pulled over several times with a broken license and the cops never cared,but one night i went to a bar out of town and the bartender wouldnt sell me a drink because of my id.

Well, just go to the DMV and get a new one to be safe. duh!
It doesn't take that long too! and should you be pulled over in the mean time, just tell them your ripped it by accident, or broke it and you're in the process of getting a new one.

Yes as long the expiry date is valid. But you will be advised to change for a new one.

I am sure if you got pulled over the cop would understand, as long as you have the complete license, but get it fixed as soon as you can.

most definitely. you need to go get a new one. surprised that you are able to get by with it at all because they wouldn't serve my wife any alcohol at a restaurant one time when her's was torn. some stores and banks have issues with it also. more of a hassle than anything but rules are rules!

oh yeah it's valid, my husband got pulled over before and they said it was still valid, but if it's over the birth date, most people don't except it.

IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME BEFORE, AND YES IT IS STILL VALID AS LONG AS IT HAS NOT AFFECTED THE LETTERS ON YOUR NAME, BIRTHDAY OR ANY RECORD. HOWEVER I WAS NOT ACCEPTED IN A NIGHTCLUB ONCE WHICH IT WAS IN VEGAS AS MY FIRST TIME AND THAT SUCKED.!! BUT GO GET A NEW ONE WHEN YOU GET A CHANCE. GOOD LUCK!

yes, its valid as long as u know the number on it. but its good to have one for quick use.
