All these people who have answered you so far are idiots.

The oil pump is driven by the front of the engine crankshaft.

The oil pan and front engine cover/timing belt will all need to come off.

Labour will be around 5+ hours for the 1.6L and close to 10 hours if you have the 2.0L

If you do not need to remove exhaust pipes and the pan drops straight down its a snap job. Pumps cost $75 - $90 for an American car. Carry a defibrillator hooked to your chest when buying foreign parts. You need a pan gasket too. The job (labor) would cost in the range of $175. - $250. depending on stuff that needs to be removed before the pan comes down. Check around for oil pump prices. Check every auto parts store within a reasonable distance. Melling makes great ones but I'm not sure if they make pumps for off - shore cars. Go on line to shop for a pump.

An oil pump it self is cheap about $15-$25, but to change it is hard to say. You have to remove your oil pan which means you will also have to buy an oil pan gasket. Depending on where your oil pan is sitting you may have to lift the engine up a few inches to get the oil pan remove, but it depend on the vehicle. You may also want to replace the drive shaft that runs the oil pump which is attached through the engine to the distributor, again in most vehicles. Hope I helped.

Which engine is in it? They made 2 sizes that year. For a 1.8 liter engine it takes about 9 hours and a new factory pump is around
$140. Other parts in the way of seals and/or gaskets are also needed. What makes you think you need an oil pump?
