but i sure hear a lot of Chris Daughtry. How come we always hear more of the runners up rather than the winners. Except for Kelly and Carrie. I love Kelly Clarkson!

Because, they have to spend a year or so doing the Idol tour, then they have to find songs and make an album. Hopefully Taylor is WAY pickier about song choice than some other Idols did. Could be that is what is taking time to achieve.
A sucky first album is a pretty great way to tank a new career.

Usually it's because the winners never should have won. Of course, I love Kelly Clarkson too... oh, and Carrie Underwood is good too and she gets good airtime on the radio. So maybe it's like 40%/60%.

Radio stations don't know how to classify his music...
You can't bag & tag it, ya know?
But you can listen to him all over the internet at dozens of Taylor Hicks web sites...
Also www.bobdenver.com offers Buddy Radio on the computer where he plays Hicks constantly.
And there's You Tube & GoFish for videos of Hicks with music.
Just type in Taylor Hicks anywhere & there he is.
As VIBE magazine said, "Taylor Hicks is the essence of the past 50 years of music."
But where do you play someone so diversified?
With all the radio stations in the country owned by a handful of big corps. everything you hear on air is predetermined & canned.
Yet, the album's great...
I was prepared not to like it because I loved the older stuff he did on AI...
But the tunes get inside your head really fast...
Pick it up if you haven't already.
Also, buy UNDER THE RADAR which is still the second best selling album at www.lasersedgecd.com
Hicks cut that CD before Idol & his own stuff is still his best stuff.
DJ's I talk to admit they have the TAYLOR HICKS album in theri car & love it.
A bummer because they have to stick to the format of the station they work for: Hard Rock, Country, Oldies, etc.
DAUGHTRY is in the NICKELBACK Camp: People who like their music LOUD are not going to enjoy the range of Taylor Hicks' musical range.
Daughtry's a nice guy & I'm happy for his success.
But he & Hicks are so totally different in musical styles that you can't compare them.
Also, Chris's still learning how to handle interviews & public appearances.
So, he gets some bad press for lacking skills Taylor learned in all those years of trying to break into the music scene.
His fans are the most loyal, fun, diverse and enthusiastic than any other living performer can lay claim to...
He's a Southern boy with a unique talent, a personality that millions respond to, and a heart of gold.
Taylor Hicks is also humble and grateful and generous.
He knows he's blessed & he never forgets to share the glory with everyone in his band and his fans.
Before every concert---which are sold out nationwide--- he invites folks going thru tough times...an illness of their own or of someone very close to them, for instance---to an hour long meet & greet where he poses with them for photos & gives his heart and soul to talking with each one individually...
Hicks is an artist who paid his dues for 10 years before AI5, he is not & never has been a racist or an immature boy band member.

Probably because the winners are more absorbed in getting everything perfect. THe runner ups want their music to be out there and heard to be become famous.

He become with the right people on the right time and has the "undesirable boy look" that women people like a lot and his songs, are extra genuine. of route, my humble opinion yet I do have Chris's cd. this is easily very solid!
