The president has proven himself to be a strong leader, unyielding to pressures. He holds top position within government of the world's greatest nations. Yet this individual can interact with the average person without condescension. People have been insulting him numerous occasions without consequences. Would anyone care to try that on some foreign dictator? Despite their differences, people should show a little respect for someone who is leading the nation during less predictable times.

WoW...YOU could not of said it any better.
I agree with you and think very highly of President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush.

His focus, staying on course, taking responsibility for the decision he makes, the dignity him and his wife have brought to the White House and to our nation is so precious to me.

The media is just mad because they can not dictate to him and his office.

PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH WALKS IN THE PROPER AUTHORITY GIVEN HIM IN HIS POSITION.

I have respect for bush. everyone who has answered this saying Bush SUCKS or any thing like that, should take into account that Bush has had to deal with 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, and numerous other disasters. I'm not saying other presidents haven't had tough times in office, but think of how large both of these events were. I'm not saying hes the best president. All presidents promise you everything, and give you nothing. and for everything they do give, there is going to be a cost somewhere else down the line...that is why i get mad when people complain about paying higher taxes after demanding more public services and such. but to put this in to perspective, just think that almost every decision Bush makes has the opportunity to either piss off or please the whole world, and just being able to step up and make any decision deserves some degree of respect.

properly, i think he replaced right into a solid president who have been given alot of undesirable press. He additionally had extra problematic circumstances to handle then maximum presidents. He gave the ladies of Afghanistan freedom and positioned the terrorists and terrible Taliban in verify. we ought to quit as a rustic blaming the President for the mishaps of the government we put in place... The movie Fahrenheit 9-11 is an entire bashing of our u . s . a . and the standard public look at that as a hundred% actuality. Like i've got stated until now, alot of folk did no longer like Reagan extraordinarily right here in Pittsburgh yet now he's appeared at as a super President. comparable with Clinton. i'm sorry yet i think that the worldwide could nonetheless be interior the comparable difficulty if somebody else have been President. We had defective intell on Iraq. And any president who replaced into exceeded this intell could have finished the comparable subject. we've our government to blame for that no longer our President. Dont overlook Clinton bombed Iraq almost on a weekly foundation on the same time as he replaced into in place of work...

Yes and one of the main reasons I respect him is because he does not yield to the onslaught of criticism against him. Reagan also interacted with the average person without condescension and he was loved by many Americans and despised not unlike Bush.
You can't expect everyone to show the president respect. That, as history has proven would be un-American.

I know that people are not going to like my answer but I don't care. I have so so so so so so so so so much respect for him there are not enough words to describe it. There are a few past Presidents that I will not show respect to but that's a different question. It should not matter if you agree with him or not he is still in charge deal with it show him the respect he deserves and move on with your life. If My cousin found out that I did not respect his boss OMG I would be disowned.

I was in the Army and I am a patriotic citizen, so I have respect for him as the President of The United States. Some of the choices he made I don't agree with, but you have to admit he is a President at one of the toughest times in U.S. history and I think that is effecting how he is viewed. He is a good President, just not a good war time President.

I'm sure he's a decent person, but he has poor leadership skills and even worse judgment.

I also think it's more than a bit odd that the same people who spent eight years vilifying Bill Clinton due to his PERSONAL failings get so bent out of shape when anybody criticizes GW Bush for his PROFESSIONAL failings.

Regardless of whether or not I agree with him, he is still the leader of our nation, so yes I respect him...As far as the people that responded about his daughters.....Because of the freedom we are awarded in this nation, Bush could not volunteer his daughters, that would be their choice if they wished to serve....That was a really low blow!

I don't have respect for a man that doesn't have the nerve to face a mother who wants answers of why her son died in a war that is so stagnant. He's so cocky and makes the whole world believe that us Americans feel that we're superior--this behavior does not earn allies--it only brings more enemies. He may have some good qualities, but he needs to be more humble when facing the rest of the world. I feel like the whole world hates us b/c of him.

Yes - a great deal of respect, in fact.

Consider the adversities this president has had to face during his terms - it's amazing that this country is still on an even keel.

Low unemployment and a good economy - despite terrorists' attacks, a war on two fronts, devastating hurricanes, an almost total lack of support and now, a congress hell bent on defeat.

I wouldn't want that job - not for anything.

I can relate. George Bush President of the United States is a man who has flushed all honor and integrity down the toilet. He has spread shame on America, it's Constitution, and it's People. It is a highly embarrassing situation for every Good American. This Man has spun completely out of control and he needs to be stopped immediately. President Bush has discounted himself to nothing more then a mere "War Criminal."

It's now well established that George W. Bush never showed up for National Guard duty for a period of approximately one year, possibly more, in 1972-1973. Despite all the talk about "honor and dignity," President Bush has apparently flushed his down the toilet. President Bush went AWOL!! Cheney himself also received 5 deferments! Both of these men are “Chicken Hawks.”
