Oscars can live for years and years. I know a fellow fish keeper that has had one for about 11 years now. Scales don't fall off due to old age, that could be a skin infection.

Oscar's live a very long time, about fifteen years or more depending on their environment.Scales falling of seem to indicate some type of disease, I would suggest going to your local pet shop and inquiring about some possible medication.

if you got he bleeding stopped, only attempt to coach some ice. he will have a boo boo for some days, yet he will be effective. he's 15 months, my 17 month previous has had some massive fall's, yet even a busted lip or nostril isn't alarm to run to the ER over. If it became his head or neck, then perhaps in line with circumstances, yet a bloody nostril, scraped knee, or a bloody lip isn't something, believe me. Get some neosporin, band aids, etc. you'll desire them contained in the destiny.

4-5 years in good conditions, maybe a little more. Their scales shouldn't be falling off.
