It's very hard to compare which one is better, because they are two very different things, in terms of the content, the context, and how the books are in general. But if I had to choose, I would probably choose the Iliad. I choose the Iliad, only because in ancient Greek history, that book, by Homer, was considered as their bible. Many warriors, and soldiers, and philosophers looked to that book as a sort of inspiration, whether on the battlefield, or in a classroom. But I love the Odyessy just as well.

Tough question because I love both, but I'd have to go with The Iliad. One reason for why is that I like the characters better. I'm not a big fan of Odysseus (he's such a womanizer), but I LOVE Hector, I think Paris is funny, and am a big time Trojans fan all the way (Greek Trojans, not USC). I really like the Cyclops story in The Odyssey though.

The Odyssey by far more exciting. The Iliad reads in some parts like a medieval telephone book.

Traditionally, critics seem to like the Iliad much better, but I find that most normal people like myself like they Odyssey much better, possibly because the Odyssey is considered the world's first comedy.

The Iliad, beyond a doubt. Its story is greater, its characters are deeper, and its plot isn't overly simple.

Odyssey, one long travel adventure, plenty of different stories.
I am not a fan of war stories, too much political bickering.
