Most body shops will hate to see you coming because depending upon the manufacturer the fiberglass may have a gel coat surface. These little deals require that the surface be sealed from oxygen so it hardens quickly. On boats there may be as 6-10 coats of gel coat on the hulls and the tops a little less. Epoxies are great also but time consuming.

Any auto body place can paint it pretty much any colour you want. Just like any other surface, it is all in the preparation and using the right paint. Add-ons, like hood scoops, are normally fibreglass, and even home body-workers have painted them quite succesfully. If you want your shell to match your truck, mount it and drive to the shop so they can mix and test the colours before spraying.
