I have heard some say if you are thinking about it before you fall asleep you dream about it. But that never happens for me. When I actually remember what I have dreamed it is either something I had been thinking about or worrying about during that day or something weired and made up lol. Or one dream I have often is being in HS and I cant remember where or what class I have to be at and I cant remember my locker combination lol.

I wish I knew!!! They say that when you dream, it's like your brain is in an office, taking all the incoming files from the day, sorting them, putting them away, and only focusing on the ones that still require further work before they can be filed away. That's why "things are always better in the morning", after your brain has processed what it needs to.
Personally, I'd prefer it if my brain was struggling with why I don't currently have a romantic relationship with Johnny Depp, instead of work-related anxiety dreams!!! ;D

That is such an abstract idea. A DREAM. i dont know if you know but there is not even a universally agreed upon definition of a dream. its just not possible to tell you that. Also this utopia of a mindset is not gonna work to dream about whatever you want to dream about. Its a very abstract idea its just not gonna work out

It sometimes works for me but rarely. I usually think really hard about the thing I want to dream about and I dream about it.

I have the same problem. I dream plenty about things I don't want to dream about but never what I want.

I've noticed that when I want to dream about something, I should not think about it that much.

Keep trying, you can train yourself to control your dreams. Try early in the morning when you're not totally asleep. It's well worth it.
