Skunks can make squeeling sounds like a pig. They can also make hissing or chirping noises to warn off a predator before actually spraying.

I grew up with many skunks around, needless to say since I was a young inquisitive boy I messed with them a bit :)

Quiet if left alone, but if they feel threatened they will raise their tail and start walking fast away from the threat. While doing this, they start putting out a sound I can only relate to a whoopie-cushion on turbocharge. Very loud, no smell as yet, but A definite deterrent! If you continue to pursue, it will stop mid-track and decide if it iwll unleash liquid bowel upon you! At this moment, they let out a slight and subtle squeeling sound, like a rabbit in danger only much supressed,

Next step is hissing and spitting while the goods are aimed directly at you. Once the tail rises above mid level you need to executa an about face pronto and RUN!!

Skunk does not come out. It is a protein based scent and will forever become an integral part of you wardrobe choice of the day. BTDT!!! First hand acct LOL,,,

live and learn huh, but it is still fun to prod them and get them all worked up :)

One more thing, If you're going to play skunk fiend make sure you don't touch one. They are vicious and can rip fingers and toes off in a split second. If you have ever seen a full grown Opossum you know what I mean. Skunks and Possums are related and have the same jaw structure.
