like what?maybe you believe everything you hear or your a motor mouth or maybe these people are not the right people to deal with.like it or not the world is made up of liars.just try and figure out the truth.

It's not just you. There was a survey done years ago that determined that people tell lies in normal conversation - to cover up - for ego purposes - for 'success' purposes. Some don't even realize they're lying. Not unusual. What is - is people who are honest - with themselves - and with others.

It could be that people dont trust you, are trying to simply benefit themselves and their situations, or are trying not to hurt you in the first place because they value you.
There can be a number of reasons- but why not ask them?
