Best way to find out is do a family tree search. You can search for websites that will help out find out. What traits are you talking about? Physical traits, emotional traits, characteristics? Be more specific. I myself am Cherokee, and I have done lineage searches and also because I know from family. I can trace pure blood up till my maternal grandmother. So my family history goes a long way back.
There are many traits of Native Americans. But even if you think you have some of them, you may not be Native American. If the amount is small, since it could have been from generations to generations, you wouldn't be able to tell. Some white folks have Native American looks...if you mean NA. I'm assuming you do mean Native American. Also if you are, learn to refer to us as Native Americans, not Indians. We aren't Indians. lol...
Hope this helps. If you find you do have Native blood in you, contact the tribe...up to 1/16 blood (some tribes) you can register and get financial help in college and stuff.

Half Eastern Band Cherokee here--and traits don't always make the person. Some Italians and Greeks can look like that as well, depending.

The only way to know for sure is do a genealogy study. Once you know your ancestors and history you will know about your bloodline.
