I'm 2 weeks along and I have very bad cramps. They are sharp and numbing almost. I take 2 tylenol every 4 hours and it does nothing. I asked my doctor and she says that it is normal. But atleast once a day it gets so bad that I'm crying and moaning in pain. I can't even walk. Has anyone here had a similar experience. She checked my Hormone level and it has tripled. So she says it's not my body trying to kick out the baby. Is this really normal?

thank you everyone. I feel a little better knowing that I'm not the only one who has bad cramps. I think it may seem so intense since it is my first baby and I thought period cramps were bad.

I had cramps for 3-4 weeks after when my period should have come when we were pregnant, to the point that i would go to the bathroom to double check that i hadn't started bleeding. Its actually fairly common. That said, they should come and go, not clamp down and stay strong for awhile. Have you had any spotting? If you haven't, you may not be miscarrying. Take a deep breath. Have you done anything for the constipation? Some women get uterine cramps from bowel irritation, and get bowel irritation from cramps (common problem for some ladies during a period). Talk to a pharmacist, let them know you're pregnant and constipated, and get something to help soften up the blockage. You may well feel better once its gotten thru. I'm not normally constipated, but i have to admit the first few weeks were a bit more stuck like that (sorry about the bluntness).

During my pregnancies I had pains, some were very sharp, from the round ligaments stretching but they were not constant. They were extremely sporadic and happened on average once a day.

I think you should go to a very good ER in your area and be checked, here's my story

When I was about 2weeks pregnant, (2nd pregnancy) just after I'd missed my period, I took a pregnancy test. Within hours I was in excruciating pain. I could not sit, walk, nothing. I was instructed to go to the emergency room immediatly. On the ultrasound they saw what appeared to be an tubal pregnacy on the outside of my fallopian tube and what appeared to be a pseudosac in my uterus. It had ruptured and I was bleeding internally which was the cause of all my pain. Eventually my abdomen become so filled with blood I could not breathe. I went into surgery at 7am and was later told how fortunate I was to have not bled to death.

It was later determined that it was a cyst on my fallopian tube that had burst and wouldn't stop bleeding. The presumed pseudosac was actually an embryo, but as a result of surgery, I lost the baby.

I do not mean to scare you but any sort of pain that has you in so much distress is worth being checked. I really think given your symptoms that you would be better safe then sorry. Tubal pregnancies and in my case cysts that don't stop bleeding are life threatening and need immediate treatment.

ADDED:

I had no blood that I could see, it was all internal. When they did the surgery it took longer then expected because they had to suction it all out.

When I became pregnant with my second child I had cramping so bad that my doctor told me to stop working. He also said that it was normal. They explained to me that it's your body adjusting to the increase in your uterus. Every woman is different. Some women do not notice any changes right away, some women's body's react immediately to the changes going on. I would keep in contact with your MD if they do not subside, or if they get worse. If you just became pregnant it also could be that your body was getting ready for your monthly and that's why you have the cramps.(Your body doesn't realize your pregnant).
I had a very healthy pregnancy and baby.

follow up with your doctor. If it doesn't get any better, go to the emergency room.
Tubal pregnancies can cause that kind of pain, but try not to worry yourself too much.
When I was 2 weeks pregnant, my uterus was already cramping up pretty badly and it hurt more than my period cramps hurt. My O.B. told me it was normal.
Everyone is different and has different experiences. If this is your first pregnancy, it could just be normal uterine cramping which you will get used too because your uterous stretches out like crazy and it starts almost immediatly after the blastocyst attaches itself to the uteran lining.
I wish you luck, but stay away from all the pain killers except Regular tylenol, which is the only pain killer proven to be safe for pregnant women.

My sister was 4 months pregnant before she found out. She also had all of the pains you're describing and then some. It was her body stretching inside because she was growing. (she was also really skinny) It's just your body getting used to changes and the growing process. Dont' worry, it won't hurt forever. The first trimester is the worst (in my opinion). It gets better

It's perfectly normal. I found out when I was 2 weeks at the ER and I was hurting like that....they gave me Morphine for the pain. I know the feeling. It's just the placenta implanting itself to your uterus. You may even experiencing some spotting from the implantation. Take it easy and don't hesitate to communicate with your Dr.

when i was in my early stages of pregnancy my doctor told me that a little cramping was normal because my uterus was changing. i was also told that if the pain got too intense to go to the doctor as soon as possible. i've never heard that to be normal with that much cramping. i never took any medicines either, especially that often. i guess i was too afraid of something happening to the baby even if it was just tylenol.
