its been 11 days still waiting for him to show some action. he answers his phone . seems to want to help me but nothing yet .

You're screwed. You should have filed a police report right away. You would be lucky if he doesn't sue you if he has any injuries. Especially if he doesn't have a motorcycle license. Chances are he will deny ever having ridden your bike.

I agree with the other answerers. I'd like to add one more thing even though it's kind of late and after the fact. I belong to several motorcycle forums/clubs and whenever there is a bike posted for sale a majority of people will say that you can start the bike, shift gears but the bike is not leaving the driveway unless the person is ready to put down a hefty cash deposit. The amounts vary but at least $500. It's stated right in the ad and people don't seem to have a problem with it if they know in advance and they are serious buyers. Several dealerships I dealt with do the same by credit card imprint. It eliminates the looky-loos.

Give him a date to comply, send him a registered letter for the damages, That way if he bails out you have a case. also call the Police and make a report. They should go to him and get him to sign the report, then he has admitted he is responsible

If he wrecked it he is responsible.
