Where did you see it? I know in Chemistry S, P, D and F are the names of the orbitals.

this means sony/phillips digital input something.
basicly is to do with digital sound. its a connection on the back of your modern cd/dvd drives, but dont worry about that, there not used any more. its also more improtantly a digital connection between pc and speakers, stereos, etc
