Snakes are solitary animals. They should be kept separate at all times. Keeping more than one to a cage will cause stress and can result in feeding problems, weight loss or even death.

Although ball pythons generally will not eat each other, it can and has happened with snakes kept together. You can see what happened when these 2 were kept together....

The only time snakes should be placed together is for breeding.

I think it's best to have them in separate cages. Definitely not males and female together. Possibly two females together if they are both about the same age.

We had 2 together when I was in school and had no problem, just make sure it isn't 2 males. And get a big enough cage for 2.

Putting two male animals together is never a good idea. Having two females should be fine, as well as a pair. If you are looking to breed them, the best bet is to keep them seperately. Also you need to seperate them for feeding, and thats ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY.

Good Luck with ball Pythons bud! They are the best

i do no longer fairly understand what weight has to do with something.... I even have 2 male ball pythons weighing related to the comparable. they are like suitable acquaintances! they are SO superb to eachother.

having many in the same cage should not be a probelm, however they live alone in the wild. make shure they are all healty by keeping them in quarintine for 30 days. use a red light at night time, verses an black or moon light. feed them seperatly, and be shure they are clean from mites, and colds. give them many places to hide and sleep. as for different genders, i wouldnt worry about it while they are young but when they grow up you might want to seperate them. and the red light wont trigger a breeding instinct. as for how many, i would keep only as many that the cage can hold. but not too many, they like their space. hope i could help!

Ball pythons can normally live together fairly peacably, just watch them to be shure they are getting along, and niether one seems stressed or stops eating or anything like that
