Lets start with a guy first. And lets assume sneakers are a NOT shoes.
A guy need a dress black pair and a dress brown pair. He can stop there. But maybe want the same in a casual shoe. So he has a grand total of 4 shoes!
Girls need to have a black pair and a brown pair also. But they need them in flats, pumps, slingbacks, mules, sandals and wedges. That's 12.
Now, depending on whats in your wardrobe, you may need some of those in white, blue, red, silver or my favorite Gold. Lets say that adds only 18 more.
Then you need some casual shoes like loafers in a few colors too. Say that's only 6 more.
Then there are the ones that are just different enough to be required for a specific outfit. We'll add say 6 for those.
Then there are those stilettos...In black and red....
So the grand total minimum that a woman needs is 44.
Wait I have less than that?!? Its time to go shoe shopping!

The average guy has 6 pairs of shoes (most of which dont fit), the average woman has 49 (not including ones that dont fit). But I have around 120

I am worse then a woman when it comes to shoes. I have about 55 pairs.

one. some women don't even HAVE ANY shoes... have to walk through the dusty streets in their bare feet, with broken bottles and sharp rocks, and we ask 'how many pairs of shoes does a woman need?' what is wrong with people today?

ur ? was "how many pairs of shoes does a woman need?" ..well the key word is need..they only need 1 but they can have have as many as they feel like t..i have like 8 and i am only 11 but they can have as many as they desire..

at least 2 pair of tennis or walking shoes 1 pair black high hills, 1 pair beige high hills, 1 pair of white high heels, 1 pair brown high heels, 1 pair black dress boots, 1 pair brown dress boots, 1 pair of casual black boots 1 pair of brown casual boots 1 pair of casual flat sandals 1 pair of casual high sandals 1 pair dress flat sandals 1 pair of dress high heel sandals. I would say a woman needs at least 14 pairs of shoes

As many as it takes to fill the closet, the room, the front porch and some in storage. GIRLS LOVE SHOES.
