According to the Mayan Calendar the date 12/21/2012 is when the current world will end. But there is a possibility a new world starts at that same moment. Their calendar is actually more accurate by a vast amount of time than anything else known.

There's always someone predicting random dates like that. I have been hearing this my whole life. It was supposed to be 2001 due to some prediction left by the Mayans. Nostradamus predicted doomsday around the year 2012, so it may be related to that.
The world will die out at some point, but don't count on it happening within our lifetimes.

It is not doomsday. Don't worry. The Mayan calander does not 'end' in 2012, but it does mark the end of the current 'cycle'. There have been many of these cycles, and none have ever signalled the end of the world. It is tricky to explain, but if you go to wikipedia and type in 'Mayan calander' you will find all the info you need.

Actually it is much sooner than that.
Saturday is also a special sabbath March 22, 2008
Jesus died on a special sabbath, which is passover or memorial of his death and Saturday.
Just joking but it could mean something it has been a long time since the anniversary of his death was on a Saturday.

It's not doomsday. It is just the end of the current cycle, and the beginning of the next cycle.
