I am taking medication to help with the pregnancy nausea and vomiting. But like 15 minutes after i took it I got sick. Can I take another dose?

it wasn't enough time for it to get in your system, but do call a nurse advice line or your doctor just to be sure you take another. I would wait until at least 30 minutes after you vomited, but i'm 90% sure the medicine isn't in your system and you would be able to take another. Still consult the doctor.

No, definitely not. Some ended up in your system and you do not want to take more then your recommended does. I am sorry to say, but you are better off toughing it out until your next dose. I know how you feel though, I was sick all day every day for 12 weeks. Good luck and just remember better safe than sorry.

My girlfriend had the same problem, but after we called the doctor, he said that it would be okay to eat 2 extra doses because sometimes our body have pre-exposure to certain drugs, meaning that we have to take extra for it to work... everything turned out great.
Note: do not take other drugs, one you take a particular drug, other durgs might interact causing toxcity.
Genearlly all pregnacy drugs are category A or B meaning that it is safe for you to eat extras, there's not much side effects to the drugs.
The bottom line is that if you take only 1 or 2, it's not enough then it will make you worst (it's like antibiotics if you take too less, the bacteria [and in this case the symptom] gets resistance to it), so you have to take more.
A drug is consider impotent only after you try it for a week.
PS my girls are doing fine.

I had the same problem with my last pregnancy....but I never took another dose cause I was too scared...but here is something that serioulsy helped with my nausea....a cherry icee from wal-mart,k-mart, or even they have them at Burger King...but it has to be the cherry kind..I don't know what it is but I SWEAR it works. An older woman told me about this when I was soo sick this last pregnancy...and I went right out to burger king and got one the next time I felt sick...and IT WORKED. Try it. She told me it was an old wives tale that seemed to work for her too.

No! Don't take another dose because it's possible that some or all of the medicine dissolved and got into your blood stream.

No, i wouldn't.
15min is long enough for some of the drug to get into the system and you wouldnt' want to overdose...it may harm baby...so just wait untilyour next dose

I would not take anything without discussing it with your doctor. Why risk hurting the baby? Maybe you can lie down for a while and make it go away naturally.

sweetie this is something that your Dr needs to answer beacuase guessing could hurt the baby.You need to put in a call to Your Ob they should have someone who answers calls on the weekends,hope this help good luck

no don't do it because it will make it worse try some crushed ice with ginger ale take small slow sips until you can take your next dose

well if your getting sick from it then i would call your doctor. don't trust the people on here...... trust your doctor. don't take the dose if your unsure.
