I have a handgun permit in Arkansas, and I'm about to take a new job with a construction company, and that means I will be traveling a few times a year to start a new job and I was wanting to know were else that permit would be recognized

See www.packing.org or www.handgunlaw.us for info on reciprocity. It appears your AR permit is recognized by 19 states, plus AK & VT in which no permit is necessary to carry.

For the most part, though, your Arkansas permit is not valid in another state. You may be able to carry based on that states laws, but your permit will not be recognized. Vermont, for example, has no permit laws. Carry away. It gets dicey going state to state. You may not even be able to travel through some states without a permit, even if unloaded in the trunk. Always check....

Just Arkansas. You need a permit for each state you wish to carry it in. The only exception is law enforcement. They are allowed, by new federal law, to carry a loaded firearm, concealed, in all 50 states. They may NOT carry on commercial air carriers.

here in nc our surrounding states honor our permits, but not all states do. check with the
sherriff's dept. for state to state.
