What are the differences between the Tamils and the sinhalies people?Is it cultural,religous or racial.Way back in the time of the british raj we never heard of disputed territory.Would'nt it be better to unite as one nation,instead of glorifying dead heros and conflict

I'm 56, and I asked my Dad years ago,since he was alive during the Holocaust , why didn't they stop it, and he said they really didn't know about it, and that today and always, it goes on, a lot in our world, especially 3rd world countries, but we only know what the press wants us to know.
