LIke he said, and you will have to have the disk.
If that dosent work you will have to find the manufactuer and version of the sound card (try Accesories>system info>components>sound device). Go to the manufacturers website and hopefully they will have a driver for it.

So never do that again. If you want to clean out stuff, uni stall them. You can try system Restore, that might bring it back. If that does not work, then you can put the OS disc in, and do a repair. If that does not work, then you have to reinstall the drivers.
Bottom line, don't get to concerned next time, and delete anything. Uni stall it. If you don't like a messy desk top, put a folder on it, and place all the Icons in it, and then when you want to use a program, you will know where they are.
'
Finally, if the System is operating fine, and you have lots of space, let it run.

Please do not panic - note, nothing is fully removed from your system and I would be glad to help you resolve this issue.
In order to try and restore the sound system, I want you to perform a system restore. If you have never performed on read on.
A system restore works on one principal - your system (pc) takes screen shots, in a sense it is programmed to remember what is on your pc at any one set time. Most systems automatically make a restore point every night.
I want you to go to:
Start menu
All programs
Accessories
System tools
System restore
You will be presented with an option screen. Click the bubble, "restore my machine to an earlier restore point".
You will be shown a calender. I assume you removed the sound today, so go chose either the Dates:
1st March
2nd March
And ensure it is the year 2007.
When you click ok - your machine will act very weird and will reset. On resetting it will reboot and restore it's self to ALL of the setting made on the date you chose to restore to.
In over words I am hoping your system will remember that it had the sound installed and will retain the application.
In future please be careful when alerting your system, and please do not imply bad language in the future.
I hope this helps
Please email me for more information within the next 10 mins for further help.

does your PC have no sound at all or only in media player? if it wont make any sound out of the speakers go to start, control panel, when the control panel comes up click on the system icon then click on device manager there you will see all the things that are on your PC.go down the list where you see sound devices RIGHT click this then click on scan for new device it will re find your sound card and install it.of course you should try restarting your PC first usually your start up will detect your deleted card and re-install it.don't worry this is an easy problem to repair!!

Try this:
Click on Control Panel
System
Hardware
Device Manager
Sound,Video, Game Controllers
Perhaps it will let you reinstall from that point...this is for Windows XP.
