I keep hearing people refer to Bush Country when talking about certain regions in Africa, but I don't really know what it refers to. Just curious..

They mean Bush the president of the US. These are the people who are against Bush in his policies of administration. They don't like him is chiefly about the war in Iraq. But they are still people who go for him. Just see the result of the recent Senate elections. Of course, we see the Democrat takes the lead but not the whole house. So, out of exasperation or desperation, they refer Bush Country in Africa to let out their steam.

Bush country in Africa refers to the areas of Central Africa where the locals are called the "Bushmen". Watch the movie--"The Gods Must Be Crazy" to satisfy your curiousity.

It's like the Aussie Outback. Not much around except a tree here and there, a lion, a zebra, a giraffe all scattered about. No people, no roads, nothing. Sparse. Very hot, very dry. Miserable living conditions. Ofetn referred to as the savanna.

True it is the land of the "Bushmen". But in general is the wild open plains. The area outside of the cities.
