I respect the previous answers but i think it is when the 'killing' is done in self defense or protecting someone helpless or perhaps in slaughtering animals for food it can be called killing but when the motives are revenge, momentary anger, or perhaps over a member of the opisite sex motivates it then it,s definately murder. This is only opinion.

Yes. If you accidentally hit someone with your car and they die...you have killed them. If you intentionally shoot someone, you have murdered them.

Theoretically nothing - dead is dead - however, the biggest difference is whether there was intent present.
