Hi. I am really active in my community. I've worked for several non profits. I've even been co-director of more than one.
I am interested in applying for no profit status for a program.
How does one go about this?
And do you have any tips?

Thanx.

Can anyone give me information that tells me the steps one would have to take, even a website with the steps would be great (not a service i'd have to pay for)

My best friend owns the top company in establishing non-profits in accordance to the IRS and government standards. Here is his website. Good luck.

P.S...If you want to try it alone without paying for it, the IRS has the neccessary documentaion. It is approx. over 500 pages and changes often. Remember, if you miss one little thing that is required by the IRS and the government, you will lose your non-profit status and will be required to pay taxes on all income.
