Gamers tend to like the AMD processors. A lot of game manufacturers use the AMD processors as the benchmark OS when they are developed. Most business applications and all of the Microsoft applications are benchmarked using Intel processors. I personally prefer the Intel processors.

What you need will be determined by what exactly you plan on doing with this system. For instance, you may be alot happier with spending less money on the processor, and much more money on system RAM, and faster hard drives. BTW, it isn't possible to be too specific, when asking computer questions.

they say amd is better because they run cooler. thats because their clock speed is slower ~2.6ghz vs. ~3.2ghz which one will generate more heat? you just gotta find a way to keep them cool or find a even balance between speed and heat generation
