i'm feeling suicidal
and
YES i'm ambivalent about doing it. (hence, the asking)

right now, i'm just waiting for anything/someone to push the right button before my bubble bursts.

antidepressants aren't working, my therapist is on vacation, i'm tired of calling the crisis line and i haven't made new friends since i moved to this place (america)... this list could go on forever but i could not put my pain into words.

i want to die.

I would like to be able to help you, but I don't know how. I know I felt suicidal when I was in high school a few times but got through those tough times and now 37 years later I am doing pretty well. Still trying to do the right things and often failing. I just keep trying.

I would say that it is never as bad as we think it is. Even thought it seems impossible there always seems to be a way to go on and have it get a little better with time.

What country did you live in before coming to America? How long have you been living here? I have been in a few other countries and have been unhappy there as well.

I find that praying helps me. When I pray most of the time I feel like God hears me, but not always. I just keep trying and He has come through for me many times. Have you tried praying to God. I also often find guidance by reading the Bible. Do you have a Bible to read. Psalms is a good book to read when you are discouraged. Read the 23rd Psalm. That short chapter is very comforting to many people. Have you ever read it. You can find it on line.

One thing that also helps is exercise. Another thing that helps sometimes is doing something nice for someone else. Do you know anyone that needs help? Needs something you can help with? What about just calling someone to cheer them up. Can you think of someone that you could help by talking to them? Helping others or even helping animals can be quite calming to our selves. Do you know any animals that you could take care of or exercise for someone. Maybe you could take a small dog or a kitty to a nursing home and help cheer up an old person who is sick with a small dog or cat.

Well I would be glad to help u out but first I need some daitails of what is going on in your life so that I can relate to u better and know how to present my answer. I think u would find it benefitial to just email me at least some details about your life so that we can together try to see what it is that is really bothering u. Now I know u mentioned not having friends but IO am afraid I need a bit more proof than that. Therefore if u want just feel free to email me at nyykjr@yahoo.com with some details such as r u in a relationship? who do u live with? How old r u? When did u come to america? from where did u come to america? did u have any negatives in childhood? and anything else u feel like I should know. Now I am sure that I can be of help to u as I have been involved in psychology for some time now and have dealt with many people and I am sure together we can work many things out. So please feel free to email me at nyykjr@yahoo.com with the details as I said and anything else u think I should know. Take care for now!!! Have a great day or night depending on when u read this! :))

No, you don't want to die. You can't take back dead. It doesn't make you "feel" any better. Right now, life sucks, but it's a temporary condition. Almost every situation that you will encounter in life is temporary - just like life itself. It's temporary because things change. You can be in control of that change or you can let others control that change. Even tiny differences in your routine can bring about change. Change brings about learning, experiencing something new, stimulation, and usually improves the situation...which again is all temporary.

Making friends isn't easy. Some people worry that they only have one friend...sometimes one friend is all you need. Having many friends is sometimes too much. To make new friends, you have to say something - "Hi. My name is ___. I just moved here from ___ and I'm trying to get acquainted with my neighbors and learn the best place to get pizza."

When ever I get down (and I've been where you are) I continually remind myself that this is just temporary. Spring is almost here - that always makes me feel better. Soon I stop thinking about how sad I am and my thoughts go to other things. Having my cats around helps.

it sounds like you're going through a major depresive episode in your life.

i think i had gone through what you're going through a few years ago. sometimes the pain is unbearable and you just want to end it all. it seems like the only way out. you feel alone, isolated and it doesn't feel like there is anyone that gives a **** about you and you feel worthless and hopeless. when you're in that state of mind, you don't think there is any reason to live whatsoever.

but you can get through it. there is just so much in life that is worth living for, although the thick fog of depression is preventing you from seeing anything right now.

the best thing i know that can get you through this is you have to move... run, walk, exercise everyday even if that is the last thing you feel like doing. second, sorround yourself with people who care about you. talk to family, brother , sister or a good friend no matter how hard or uncomfortable it is for you. it will make you feel better. third, the medication can help but it is only a bandaid to the underlying issues so work on yourself and don't lean on the medication as a cure-all

it will take time, but you will get better. you won't feel like this forever.

if you need someone to talk to email me and i'll be happy to chat with you. sometimes you just need a friend and that makes all the difference...really.

take care of yourself

Your reason is - what your feeling right now will go away! I know you probably feel like there's no point in life right now, I've been there too. And I'm glad I didn't do anything about it because sure enough those feelings went away. You won't feel like that forever and believe it or not; you have the strenght to heal. Just wait it out. Go somewhere where you can yell at the top of your lungs and just yell! Yell out help me or whatever you want but for me yelling was always the fastest relief for me. Do it and I guarantee that you'll feel better almost instantly!!!!!

IM me at bboyallday@yahoo.com or Unclephil3000@hotmail.com and we can talk it out.

Lets see, you feel like ending your life, you haven't made any friends since moving to the states, you feel depressed and you've tried to find answers to your problems calling crisis lines, but that hasn't worked for you! You have even taken medication. Moving to a new place, it must be difficult if you can't find new friends! You sound very frustrated! Thankyou for haveing the courage to share your feelings ;-).

Don't know if this helps or not,... but once when I was depressed (really depressed, not just "sad"), I realized it, and tried exercising to lift myself out of it. I ran, cycled, walked, and lifted weights... anything. At least an hour a day, every day.

It's hard to feel depressed when you're sweating and your heart is beating fast. A few weeks later the hurting stopped and I started feeling much better. ...

P.S. I was living in a foreign country at that time, like you, and facing several difficult situations all at once.

Hang in there! Find whatever it takes...

Don't ask your self many questions now about that. If you need friends you can make friends now by sending to any one here. Life is always ups and downs. Can't you remember anytime where you were happy ? go and see new places and new people. Try to leave America to another place if you feel it's problem. Life is valuable, ask the people who can hardly find food or home. Try to meet a person who owns nothing at all, but he is still living and fighting to live. Live to make others happy if you can't make yourself happy.

i think ur doctor didnt give you the proper advice and information about anti-depressant pills. they only work when you take the entire course. the 1st 2 weeks may make you feel worse those are just the side effects, but soon after that ull recover. right now i think u need a friend and some medical help[both therapy and counsilling]

Do you have a support system? Any close friends? Anyone to talk to? That's what you need to do. You seem to know the system,. use it. Do you have a plan? If so, call the crisis line, get help. Otherwise, keep busy, find something to do, call a friend, TALK TO SOMEONE!
