I have a new computer . my windows program is not xp. It's called windows vista . I bought a sims theam park.

Every time I try to play the game freezes .I do not under stand why? Help please....The games system requirements are windows 96or 98. Is my game compatable?

The problem is that you have got the latest edition of Windows and a very old game. They dont relate. Try buying latest games it will work best with vista. Dont change Vista to Xp or 98. Get better games.

98 is based on 9x kernel (the kernel is the heart of the OS). Everything after that is based on the NTFS kernel. It would be compatible with windows xp, but more changes have been made to the NTFS kernel in Vista. Older programs are marginally compatible. Like they said its a new OS. Your game is not compatable. Your computer running Vista will run games that are compatable with Vista. You should be able to run better games, and the old games, I'd take them back to the store. The old games are cheaper, but Vista is too far ahead of them.

Vista is Microsoft's new OS, there are still many bugs in it and quite a few games have been reportedly having issues with it. If you wish you can switch to windows XP which should have no issues.

probably not - windows vista is brand new it was just released last month - your game is older then that - you might be able to download patches in the new few weeks that will make your old game work on the new windows - check the sims web sites

It should be compatible. I would check your computer's documentation and find out what graphics card you have. You might need to update your graphics card drivers. Yes u can play it. Right click on ur desktop then personlize then click on windows color and appearence then Open Classc apperance properties for more color options then pic windows classic. Then the game should work.
