i have a cherokee i want to lift it but my budget is tight i heard you get 2 inches in front if you use grand cherokee coil springs the rear you get 2 inches by cutting out long leaf off another set of springs like a add a leaf should i fabricate shackles use blocks any help i can use for a budget boost thanks

for all of that you could just buy new sleaf springs and have a better, longer lasting ride. Rough Country sells nice lift kits for the XJ at very reasonable prices.

Spring over axle conversions are fairly famous for torque problems and before you do that, you might want to ride with someone that has already done it to see how it will affect your handling.

Jim is talking about a "Spring-Over" conversion for the rear. You simply have new spring perchs put on top of the axle and relocate the springs approx. 2 inches higher.

You can do the front springs the way you are thinking and if you want you can flip the leaf springs bottom side up in the rear and get 2 inches.That is how I did mine.
