Why some of the Word files are not opening by double click (or by right clicking and selecting open)?

I have a very annoying problem. Some of the MS Word files are not opening by double clicking. I tried the second method by right clicking on it and then selecting the open, but in vain.

Could you suggest the solution for this problem?

I right clicked on file and then selected the open with and then Microsoft Word. There was a dialogue box which said that the path is invalid and check permission.

Just saying it dont work isn't enough for us to go on. What happens when you double click?

Nothing: Malware preventing you from opening.

Cant find program: Rightclick and choose "Open With" > select Word and check the box to always use this program.
