The campaign that led to prohibition had started many years earlier, but veterans of the Great War returned home to find that the 18th Amendment had already been ratified.

Women in general voted for the first time in 1920, though they had had that right in certain states for decades.

Civil liberties had slipped away during the war and were assailed unmercifully after it. It took the much despised Warren Harding to release Eugene Debs from the Atlanta Federal Penitentiary after he gained nearly a million votes for president in the 1920 election. Wilson would not or could not do it,

The motion-picture industry, already rolling, became a major industry after the war, as did the automobile industry (mostly Ford). And then came radio.

Actually daylight savings would not go national for another 40 years.

The campaign that let to Prohibition started after WWI. Income tax started during WWI. That's all I can think of for the moment.

I think the biggest was welfare, public asistance. It began with giving govermental assistance to veterans.
