Stay busy. If you just sit around and watch tv or something you'll fall asleep.
I've never done it, but I did go a week only taking a short 2-3 hour nap each night. It really messes you up. I felt like I was drunk by the end of the week and I don't even remember that Friday. Then I slept for a full 24 hours. I don't really recommend doing it for fun.

you can stay awake for 48 hours many ways. the most healthy is just walk around when you get tired. or there are drugs. but at 48 hours you will not start to feel anything slip most likely.

Why in the world would you want to do something like this? Just a note, it doesn't take a full 48 hours to lose it without sleep.
