You don't have to convince them that you are a good person. You have to convince them that you are a good WORKER. That is all they really care about, how you are going to impact their bottom line.

Hard work and honesty. The union has nothing to do with it. Stay out of the rumor mill - all work places have them - good luck.

If you worked as a postal union person,don't even mention it to your next employer,I wouldn't even mention it to my neighbors
