I am the RN manager where I work I am the Newbie (almost 2 years) I work with mostly CNA's and dietary people. Today there was a mass revolt over taking VS. I ended up calling my manager and she came in. According to her I spend to much time socializing with pt.s and familys. ( I do spend alot of time with familys but thats part of my job.) I also spend to much time on the phone and sitting in the back room on the computer. I probably have about 50 phone calls a day all work related. I do all my charting on the computer. Anyway the staff says I don't support them and they "have no respect for me." I do alot of their jobs that they don't see because they are in another room. . I am very sick and need to reduce my stress. I get along well with the night staff and they seem to like me. I have worked enough nights with them to know we can work together. Would I be better off taking the night shift opening or looking for a new job. There's a Great benefit package which I need

Well you cant change those fools you work for and work with. Those unappreciative and ignorant sociopaths will always be there to screw around with your head. Go to the night shift or find a better job- the night shift preferably. But if you get another job who is to say the new place wont be worse?
Start moving and get the heck out of that place you work. It wont get any better

sounds like you answered your own question--take the night job. If it doesn't work out, then you can look for a new job, but why not stay where you are for now and see how it goes?

Take the night shift position if it would lower your stress. You would probably be compensated for working nights as well.
