a yeast infection is a fungi that grows in a girl or women's vagina. it is regularly itching and uncomfortable. a yeast infection looks very red and swollen. some of the causes are not wiping the correct way. if you wipe from the back to the front this is not good. this causes germs which can lead to an infection. also not wiping at all. its very important to wipe because again it gets rid of germs. a yeast infection should be treated by medicine soon if you have it or a friend has it. it really doesn't do anything just is very bothersome and itchy. this is not when you pee it burns!! if it burns when you pee you might have a bladder infection which is much worse and should be treated immediately. they sell jock itch cream for the guys in like cvs or rite aid. it works the same as a perscrition. try not to itch. good luck!!

sounds like a urinary tracht infection. classic symptoms! drink lots of water and have a glass of cranberry juice every day, my urologist told me i could never take tub baths again ,so i am committed to only have showers. guess what? i havent had any more infections. a yeast infection is very uncomfortable as you have severe vaginal itching and a white discharge. you dont usually get this unless you are sexually active. if your symptons dont clear up you need to re-visit the doctor. sometimes they put you on an anti-biotic that is called broad spectrum until they get the results back from the lab, then they will know exactly which medication will work. hope this helps you till you see your doctor.

CANDIDA, is yeast infection. All of the above answers are accurate. However, what is commonly not know is that it is systemic or can affect the whole body. It can affect/aggravate your joints. It basically affects your immune system.
Often times the vaginal or jock itch is only the symptom and internal medicine is the best/only cure. I suggest to go to the library or Borders book store and check out "The Yeast connection and Women". There are a couple of more good ones that give a bunch of information in everyday laymen terms. It will answer most/all of the questions you have asked.

We really don't know the cause of yeast infection. It could be many things that we intake into our bodies. The best thing is to check with your doctor. It might not be anything serious, but it isn't comfortable. Because of the itch, pain, or discharge, various to everyone differently.
