When she gives out a lot of homework, see if you can talk to the other students and get everybody to not do it. She should realize you have other classes and can't spend all your time on her assignments.

Well gee, that's a real bummer. The only thing that I can suggest is that you may want to talk to your teacher about that. When I was in 4th grade, I didn't get that much homework. Are you sure that you are keeping focused? Maybe if you try to work in a quiet area for 45 minutes at a time, then take a 15 minute break, you may increase your productivity. I am in 10th grade, and this process seems to work well for me when I get a lot of homework. Just don't resort to cheating :P

Sounds like you might have poor time management skills. Estimate how long a particular assignment should take you, then time yourself, without rushing. You can also time yourself first then think of ways to shorten the time without losing the quality of your work. Remember that only the time actually used to do homework counts. Do you waste time? Remember that daydreaming, going to the bathroom, taking a phone call, fooling around on the computer, arguing with your parents, prolonged complaining and procrastinating, etc. do not count as homework time. Once you get organized and have data on the length of time it takes to complete homework, you will be in a better position to discuss this issue with your parents and teacher.

I am a teacher....my first question is how are you using your time in class? Are you visiting and doing other things or using your time wisely and doing your work in class? Most of the time, I give my students time to at least start on their homework....and their homework should only take a maximum of 30min-1hour.....but if they chose to visit or not do their work in the time I gave them, then it will probably take a little longer. As you get older, it will get worse! Always talk to your teacher about your problems....see if that helps, too! :- ) I have taught 3rd, 4th and 5th and now teach high school. Good luck!

You don't say how long it takes you, just that you are up way too late getting it done. Are the other kids in your class having the same problem? There is always one kid who will have it done in 10 minutes, but besides the brainiac, how is everyone else doing? If alot of the other kids are having the same problem, maybe you can talk to your mom or dad about it and let them know that you are not the only one having this problem. Get them on your side, and maybe they can talk to some of the other parents and they can go in and talk to the teacher or the principal about it.

I am a recently retired elem teacher who doesn't believe in tons of homework. You need to get with your parents or whoever is in charge of you and set up an appointment to talk with the teacher, be honest. It is getting more and more that school districts demand each teacher give a certain amount of homework. In 4th grade, I just tried to teach them to be responsible in doing something and returning it each day so that would prepare them for middle school.

you've extra time on weekends, so certain, it does make some sense to assign extra homework on weekends. On weekends you've about 2.5 finished days for homework (0.5 of Friday + Saturday + Sunday), while on weekdays you merely have about .5 days. and also you declare your instructor isn't doing artwork on weekends, yet how did you understand that? Did you consider that over weekends she would properly be grading amassed homework or exams, if no longer out of your type then probable for yet another? possibly she even has yet another pastime. She also has needs to attend to at her homestead.

Well that's what school is all about. As you get older and go into higher grades you'll get more and more homework. Never leave your homework til the last minute because you'll never get it done and it won't be as good. As soon as you get home from school take an hour or two to finish all of your homework.

4th grade? It seems like your teacher is being a bit pushy. Unless you're just starting your homework to late. Start your homework as soon as you get home from school and it really shouldn't be taking you seven hours (if you start right when you get home) until you reach 10th grade.
