MY dad is growing Sweet corn jalapenos and tomatos roma.
Grass was on top of the soil, so we took it out, but then I heard that the soil was used up by the grass. Is this true, we have no soil. But my dad wants to use used soil. Please Help, I'm willing to answer and give details!

Hey, you could have just turned the grass under and then raked the earth smooth..
What you did is not a big problem though..
You might want to go down to a seed store or, a store where they handle fertilizer. Get some 10-10-10 and follow the directions on the package.

I tried to grow some weeds one time and could not do that. LOL

have fun.. Not too much water.

Plants need different kinds of nutrients to grow. If your father fertalizes the ground well enough, things should grow well.
