A little vegetable oil or lemon oil should remove it without risking damage to paint. If that doesn't work, try some kerosene.

Urinate on it? That's disgusting..... not only is that uncivilized, that's kinda cheap and obviously... disgusting!
It may work, but I'll tell you a more... humane way to clean that off. Now that tree sap is probably completely dried on, a bit like amber. What you can try at home is warm water. Soak a towel or something of that nature with very warm-hot water, and simply place it on the windshield, and sit it there... a few hours, checking on it every once in a while. If that won't work, then you can always try Goo Gone (c) or any other commercial cleaner. Acetone (Nail polish remover) might work, but if your car is like most other cars, it may damage the coating that protects the bare glass. Most windshields are laminated, which means it will shatter but not turn the shards of glass into shrapnel. If you crack laminated glass, the glass will shatter but stay in place. Remember to be very careful taking it off, if it is still solid, and you attempt to scrape it off with something.. large, then you might crack your windshield if it has settled in enough.

First scrape the big pieces off. Then get hot water and a pair of gloves and a good cleaner and scrub brush. might want to try acetone also, makes you a little woozy though. water and cleaner definitely best.
