For some reason crackers didn't work for me. After 3 months of morning sickness, I found out that I didn't get it when I stayed away from greasy fatty foods and foods that were high in sugar.
Eat a lot of carbs instead to get your sugars and fats. That is probably why crackers work for so many other ladies.
Peanut butter sandwiches worked for me, i got my protein, my sugars, my fats and didn't ever throw up the following day. So made that my daily lunch along with a green apple. I lost 11 pounds during my morning sickness phase. To this day, if I eat anything with too much sugar or eat anything too greasy and fatty, i will be throwing up the next morning. Also, my pre-natals didn't help me any.. I had to stop taking them and replace them with just a simple iron pill and some folic acid. Everything else I had to get from nutrients from my meals. so eat smart, eat healthy and it should ease up a little.
good luck to you, i know its an awful experience.

Most people will tell you that 7up and crackers work wonderfully. They didn't for me. I think everyone has their own special way of dealing with it, and it does take a few weeks to figure out. After 6 full months of morning sickness, and at least one bad day a week after that up through my 8th month, here's what worked for me:

Carry a toothbrush with you... everywhere. Sometimes just the aftertaste of certain foods is enough to put you over the edge.

Peppermints are the greatest invention in the world.

Mashed potatoes (without the gravy) calm your stomach.

Drink a glass of water before you eat, and a glass of water afterwards. This helps food digest faster. Make sure you carry water with you everywhere... you'll stay hydrated easier, and if you feel nausea coming on sometimes taking a few drinks helps.

Eat things that are lower in fat. Fatty foods, like burgers and fries, take longer to digest and can cause heartburn. Heartburn may make you sick, too, so start eating low fat foods now to get used to them and you'll be less miserable when the baby is living in your ribcage, too.

Carry antacids with you everywhere. Sometimes the mints are enough to help calm your stomach, but ask your doctor what is safe to take to remedy heartburn during your pregnany. This way, if you're out somewhere where you don't have a choice about what you eat, you'll be prepared and can maybe avoid nausea later.

Avoid spicy foods, chocolate, and anything else that you think might upset your stomach. Your prenatal vitamins will make up for any lacking nutrients that you lose your first trimester by vomiting. The basic rule is to keep down 25% of your food for the day. If you're not able to do that, you need to talk to your doctor and see what he/she can do for you to make sure you don't dehydrate.

You should ALWAYS have something in your stomach. An empty belly exacerbates morning sickness. You should try to eat foods that are cold or lukewarm as hotter food has a stronger odor which can upset ones stomach. Lots of people say eat crackers but that never helped me... it differs for everyone.
Eat about 5-7 small meals per day and drink plenty of water or juice.
My doctor recommended me to take vitamin B6 which helped with my morning sickness for some reason. You should not exceed 25 mg a day when taken in pill form.
My doc prescribed me Phinigrin which works just as well as Zofran and not near as expensive.

I was prescribed Reglan in the pill form (Most of the time, Reglan is given through an IV drip.) to calm the nausea and I found that eating crackers all the time didn't help much for me. My morning sickness diet was Popsicles. As long as it was cold and had a variety of flavors, it was good! Plus I ate the ones with real fruit as well so I wasn't losing too much energy with just crackers.

I read that if you lay in bed for at least 15 minutes before you get up in the morning and if you eat a few crackers while you lay there it will lessen the severity of morning sickness. I drank a lot of ginger ale. Ginger is a natural stomach settler.

morning sickness is caused by a brop in blood sugar so stay away from simple carbs and sugars and eat good amount of protein.... it keeps you blood sugar much more stable...what worked amazingly well for me was eating a couple orange slices in the morning then a protein cuz since protein takes longer for you to digest it can leave you feeling a even sicker for a while the oranges get the blood sugar up quickly while your body digest the proteins happy baby making

Keep saltine crackers right next to the bed and nibble on a few of those before you even get up.

Also, I've heard that smelling something like fresh roses can help.....but since most of us can't afford fresh flowers every day, maybe you could locate some rose-scented toilet water or soap at a health foods market. (Or something equally refreshing that smells good to you....any fragrance that wouldn't make you think of food.)

If it's really severe nausea, ask your doctor about using the lemon-mint flavored Emetrol (available over the counter at your local grocery or drug stores).

Crackers are very helpful. They also make these suckers called Preggie Pops. They are at the Motherhood Maternity store.
