They're not removed from the body. Except for fiber (insoluble carbohydrate polymers) which is never absorbed, the carbohydrates you eat are absorbed through your mucous membranes (i.e. starting in your mouth) and then the stomach and small intestine, and then either used for calories immediately or converted into fat for storage.
