Define the difference between jumping and leaping. I can't reach my dictionary so I don't know if there is a difference. It's likely just a case of which word you want to use.

Both, either. There's really little difference in the meaning of the two. They are synonyms. According to Yahoo's dictionary:

jump - verb
To move off the ground by a muscular effort of the legs and feet: hurdle, leap, spring, vault 2. See move, rise

leap - verb
To spring or bound upward from or as if from the ground; jump: leaped over the wall; salmon leaping upriver.

When I was a kid many, many moons ago, we used to play a game called "leap frog."
I don't recall any activity referred to as "jump frog."
