Let me begin by saying that I am not a prude, but does anyone else out there, who has children, hate it when there is bad language and sex scenes on our pre 8.30 pm television shows. I just find it really sad that it is becoming the norm and is being accepted. I don't want my 9 year old talking like they portray the "cool" characters on tv and thinking that that is ok. She knows about sex but everywhere you look they are basically saying it is ok to sleep around. Even on our radio stations now! I know you are going to say "change the channel". We do, and it is on every channel. It just saddens me is all. What are your thoughts?

Yes, the breakdown of morality in America comes from several places. Mostly bad or poor parenting.

Broken homes or parents who are too preoccupied with drugs, alcohol, sex and porn, work, hobbies, etc.

We should all get back to the basics on life. When I was a kid, we had 3 channels and most of the programing was in B&W. Hollywood made shows and movies that were done in a manner than taught about doing the right thing, there was moral to the story.

Now, Hollywood wants to push gays as "normal" and marriage of these warped nutscases is legal and acceptable. It's not. Until we get back to those principals, things in America will continue to deteroriate to weaker and weaker morals

I completely agree with you! Young people nowadays have somewhat mimicked what they are seeing in our society and in media. It is quite disturbing if this is how our future generations will be like. Some advice would be the "Parental Control" feature (ask your television provider about it.) Other than that, just have a talk with your child and teach them. Afterall, it is called parenting. Best of luck!

Since when is TV necessary for life? If you dont like whats on it, why not just turn it off? Or better yet, just get rid of it.

I dont have a TV, and somehow I still manage to get along with life.

I personally dont think "bad" language is a problem at all. "Bad" is just a question of perspective, like everything else.

But if you dont want your kid talkin like that, explain it to her! If your point of view is rational and makes sense, why shouldnt she accept it?
