lol yes, the Sabres are good at winning, not losing. With their win tonight, they moved back into first in the NHL, not just the Eastern Conference. Don't watch the Flyers--just a bit of friendly advice from a fellow hockey fan trying to spare you some heartbreak.

To be quite honest, I don't think that your question can be answered with an objective response. Many teams tally large amounts of goals without loosing. Perhaps the best "yard stick" comes at the end of the regular season with the President's Trophy (which is awarded to the team with the best regular season record). Unfortunately, the President's Trophy carries with it a certain curse. Most teams that have won the Stanley Cup didn't win the President's Trophy. My advice would be to find a team that possess qualities that you like and/or admire. Some people like hard hitting teams, fast teams, or high scoring teams. Most people find it best to support their local team (even if they are loosing). This gives you the best opportunity to see a hockey game that means something to you. Either way, hockey is an experience that comes from the heart and soul. Whatever team "speaks" to you loudest just might be your team.

It can change from week to week and because of injuries. But Buffalo is a great team, as are Detroit and Nashville. San Jose, Ottawa, Anaheim, and New Jersey are right behind them.

Stats wise, the Buffalo Sabres are in first place as of Sat/3rd. They have twenty-five more goals than the Nashville Predators. Two of their stars are Ryan Miller (G) and Daniel Briere.(C) They are good at winning, maybe even The Stanley Cup.

Pittsburgh Penguins!!! I'm biased because I've grown up with them and I'm a life-long fan...but come on...Crosby, Malkin, Fleury, Recchi, Gonchar, Whitney, and now Roberts and Laraque. Not to mention the rest of the team who average an age of about 23...
Great season thus far and things are looking up for them in the upcoming years.
Let's Go Pens!!!

Sabres are a good choice this year. If you're in for the long haul I'd go with Detroit Red Wings.
