It may have to do with the area you live in. If the unemployment rate is high there, younger workers can have a difficult time finding a job. They have to compete with older workers with more experience that have been forced to go back to retail and lower paying jobs due to unemployment.
If there isn't a high unemployment rate in your area, consider what you are putting on your applications/resume. Little details may be turning an employer off. And if you haven't heard from employers within a week, give them a call and see if there is potential for an interview.
Good luck!

A lot of has to do with how you present yourself. Be as professional in your appearance and demeaner as you can be. Sell your self as an assest to the company. Call all those places you have applied to and follow up with them. If no luck, then open a phone book or news paper and start applying again. You'll find something. Don't give up. Keep trying. There's a job out there for you.

Do you dress well and put on a suit when you go job hunting?
Do you follow up by not waiting for them to call you, but you call THEM asking if a decision has been made?
Do you have a good resume and give it to everyone even if it is a low paying entry level job?
Your resume can list the subjects you studied in school, hobbies and interests.
Have you gotten three letters of recommendation from Friends and previous employers and included them in your application even if they didn't ask?
What I fear is that you are not playng the job search game. I am very good at it by the way.
e-mail me if you want more tips or go to WWW. ASK. COM and ask about job search tips and good luck!

It seems like it is a tough market out there right now. I know of several people that have been looking for work for a few months. Review your resume and the type of jobs you are applying for. If all else fails, try an employment agency.

Call the people you've applied for or interviewed with and ask for feedback. Find out if they'll tell you anything. They might not, just to prevent getting sued, but maybe you'll find someone willing to give you an honest answer.

How do we know? Appearance, attitude availability(your schedule), prior work performance, tattoo's, piercings, H.S. graduate? Give more detail.. Or if none of the above.. maybe the job market isn't that great in your area.. You don't specify where you live.
