People think the Bible condemns homosexuality, and they think people choose to be gay. (Both not true) And since it's not the norm, some believe it's not natural either. (It is, just look at the animal kingdom)
A lot of it is ignorance, people just aren't told the truth. There is no "agenda", there is no weird "lifestyle" either.

There are lots of reasons to bash gays, all of them ignorant.
1)deeply closeted gay men are often the worst offenders
2)fear of anyone different
3)it fits the political environment the offender inhabits
4)it fits the social milieu of the offender
5)religious convictions (often based on the old testament - which is often in direct contradiction to the new testament - which is the story of Jesus Christ, from whence Christianity derives it's name)
Mostly it's unfamiliarity on a personal level.
Sexuality is not the only aspect of a persons life. It's mostly voert intolerance that forces gay people to make it a key component in their lives. They should be afforded the same respct as everyone else.
Intolerance is wrong, no matter who the victim is.

Again with the "H" word. Why must all disagreement be called hate? I do not hate homosexual people but I do have a problem with the "Gay Agenda".
Think of it this way. Here a guy is just standing there. All through the history of America and probably most of the world, like gender people have not been allowed to marry. Suddenly, homosexual people decide that they should be allowed to get married.
The guy is still just standing there. He has the same views he always had. He has the same views America has always had. He has the same views the world has always had. He has not done anything differently. He has not changed anything. But suddenly this guy is being accused of hating gay people.
Just because homosexuals or any other group of people decide they deserve something doesn't make everyone else full of hate because they disagree.
My view of homosexuals has not changed. I think they are people just like anyone else only they are sexually dis-oriented. It doesn't make any difference why they are, they just are. They sould not be hated for it, nor should they be praised for it.

One difference centers on the controversy of whether homosexuality is a lifestyle choice or an innate characteristic. Sex and, to a degree, race are clearly apparent physical characteristics--one is born into these minority groups.
It is true that at least some homosexuals choose to be gay as a sexual preference. It may be a type of kink, or it may appeal because the compete field of partners is smaller.
Reasonable cases can be made on many sides as to whether sexual orientation is a matter of inevitable genetics, pathology, lifestyle, social conditioning, or some combination of these and other factors.
So, yes any hatred of one another is sad, but it is not exactly the same as racial or gender prejudice. It raises its own unique issues that cannot be wished away.

even though man has been on this planet for relatively long amount of time - we are still babies. As we crawl thru history, we begin to understand ourselves a little better. This enlightenment, unfortunately, often comes at someone else's expense. Slavery and prejudice are just two examples of what mankind allowed before they began to see the inhumanity of it. Due to our immaturity we do not realize the full extent of our discriminatory ways. Let us hope that we continue to grow as a civilization and put away the things of childhood.

The difference is women are a gender, minorities are a race or ethnic group, but homosexuals are about behavior. Some homosexuals' behavior is pretty respectable, but some behave in a way to call attention to the behavior of what they do in bed. ANYBODY who falls in the latter category of behavior has unacceptable behavior to me. I don't hate them, I simply find them disgusting.

I guess you have failed to notice that it is still perfectly legal to hate women and minorities. In fact, hatred is legal. It really isn't a rational emotion, so I don't look to understanding it.
I think freedom of speech is more important than civility, although I wouldn't mind seeing everyone be more civil.

People hate some gay people because in some situations they are making the choice to be gay. I will admit that there are some people with reproductive and/or mental disorders were they cannot help being gay, but, in the majority of cases that I have seen it is a choice, and an unacceptable one at that.

To me, the flamboyant gays make me mad. I don't care if they're gay or not but if anyone acted like that it would annoy me. I also see something a little wrong with sticking things where someone poops. I don't buy that there's a gene that tells them that's what to go after because, logically, that gene probably wouldn't survive seeing as two men can't have babies, no matter how hard they try.
You can't choose to be a woman or minority. Most people still believe being gay is a choice.
Also, just because someone disagrees with you about something doesn't make that person ignorant. I see liberals use this attitude a lot. So just because someone sees being gay as being wrong and you think it's right doesn't make that other person ignorant, it just means you have a disagreement about a subjective matter.
